African Americans and Africans worldwide need to change their self perspective. I rate learning to love who we are is a high priority if we are to be healed. Brother Malcolm X, may peace and blessings be upon his soul, said " The greatest crime that the whiteman has committed is that he has taught us to hate ourselves." If we merely take a good look at our current status as a people, then this truth is blatently obvious today. God the Greatest is not coming down here to earth from heaven to solve our man made problems. We have to clean up our own mess. I ain't a hater, but this mongrel mentality of thuggin and pimpin is a key contributor to our downfall. Drug dealers cannot have carte blanche access to our communitys and children. Me don't want no blood money. To quote the late great poet Curtis mayfield, " It ain't all good in the neighborhood." Our people's situation has spiritually declined since our uprising in the 60's. Mothers weren't crack addicts and selling their babies, and black men weren't the main killers of blackmen. Education was sought after and fought for, while articulate and brilliant leaders were the ones looked upon as role models and heroes. This gangsterismic atmosphere didn't cut the mustard then, and it isn't working now. I have had far too many of my brothers, cousins, and friends either imprisoned institutionally or mentally, dead, strung out or ravaged by this disease of self hatred to feel too good about my situation. The health of the community will lead to wealth of our nation within a nation. I am always open to self analysis and constructive criticism inorder to help stimulate my inner growth and developement. Its time for the physicians to heal themselves. I wiil again say that LEARNING to LOVE is our best strategy in our efforts to rise above this moral and spiritual decay that is stifling and choking the life out of us. Religious fractricide and the dueling dogmas of such ideologys must stop. We all are children of Jah Almighty and Mother earth. Its time to clean up our hearts and take the steps necessary to make our children, elders and families safe in our village communitys. Let's AIM 4 CHANGE instead of guns at our brains. Our Love is our greatest strenght and asset. Lets' ante up, big time, right now.
